Anything Goes

Ok, so. After staring at the computer screen for what can only be described as a very large portion of the day I think it's time to post my first blog!

The thing that excites me about fashion as it is today is that really just about anything goes. Nothing can be too provocative, nothing can be too colourful and nothing can be too androgynous. The way that I see fashion is as a personal opinion; a favourite colour if you will. And, just like my favourite colour, I would say that my personal opinion is dependent on what day it is!

Take, for example, the range of different trends that have been cropping up this autumn/winter:

Classic Brit

This look combines classic tailored jackets and trousers with a quintessentially English feel (picture courtesy of ASOS)

  Wild Hippy Chic

This look can combine all sorts of floral/tribal/block patterns with fur/suede and unique fabrics. The key is a build up of textures with a typically laid back feel (picture courtesy of Topshop)

Laid Back Elegance

This look is all about the womanly figure. Tight, or often draping, skirts and dresses are matched with chunky knits and slouchy cardigans, giving a laid back feel to an otherwise evening outfit (photo courtesy of Zara).

I think really, as cliche as it sounds, fashion is what people make it. As long as you are comfortable and confident with what you are wearing you will look good. Fashion is all about the experimental: be daring but most of all be yourself.
